Children’s Behavioral Health

Comprehensive Behavioral Health Assessment

Every child’s journey begins with a thorough assessment conducted by a licensed or qualified behavioral health professional.

The assessment identifies emotional, social, and developmental needs; environmental stressors; and strengths that will shape the child’s individualized Plan of Care.

We partner with caregivers, schools, and case managers to ensure a holistic understanding of the child’s needs.

Individual and Family Counseling

Our therapy sessions provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can express emotions, process experiences, and learn new ways to cope.

Therapy focuses on:

  • Emotional regulation and self-control
  • Building healthy communication and problem-solving skills
  • Coping with anxiety, trauma, or grief
  • Strengthening family relationships and parenting strategies

Counseling may be provided one-on-one, with family members, or in small peer groups depending on treatment goals.

Skills Training and Integration

Behavioral or emotional challenges often affect a child’s ability to function in daily life.

Through skills training, our specialists help children learn and apply practical skills such as:

  • Following directions and routines
  • Improving focus and task completion
  • Developing positive social interactions
  • Managing anger and frustration
  • Building self-esteem and responsibility

Training takes place in real-life settings — at home, in school, or in the community — to ensure skills are meaningful and sustainable.

Behavioral Intervention

Our team develops individualized behavioral intervention plans to address and reduce harmful or disruptive behaviors.

Using data-driven methods, we identify the reasons behind challenging behaviors and teach children and families replacement strategies.

These interventions support children in:

  • Reducing aggression, defiance, or self-harm behaviors
  • Increasing cooperation and compliance
  • Promoting emotional safety and consistency across home and school environments

Behavioral interventions are collaborative — involving parents, teachers, and care teams to ensure success across all settings.

Crisis Intervention

Children and families facing acute behavioral or emotional crises can access immediate, short-term support focused on stabilization, safety, and recovery.

Our team works to de-escalate crises, connect families to appropriate resources, and develop ongoing prevention plans.

Crisis services may include same-day or after-hours response, safety planning, and care coordination with schools and providers.

Our Goals

Our Children’s Behavioral Health Services aim to help each child:

  • Develop healthy coping and communication skills
  • Build stronger family and peer relationships
  • Improve emotional regulation and school functioning
  • Increase self-confidence and independence
  • Achieve and maintain stability in home, school, and community environments

Family-Centered Approach

We understand that families play the most important role in a child’s success.

Our programs are built on collaboration, education, and empowerment for parents and caregivers.

We work side by side with families to:

  • Understand the child’s strengths and needs
  • Reinforce strategies at home
  • Coordinate care with schools, case managers, and medical providers

  • School or Community: for real-life skill application and coordination with educators
  • Clinic: for structured therapy and assessment

Telehealth: secure online sessions when appropriate for convenience and accessibility
